Effective evangelization requires knowledge of our faith. An evangelist must always "be prepared to make a defense to anyone who calls you to account for the hope that is in you." (1 Peter 3:15).
There is an old adage that says it takes a community to raise a child. St. Thomas the Apostle Parish exemplifies this view, faithfully supporting Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth grade Catholic school and Public School Religion program.

SUNDAY SCHOOL
Faith formation starts early in a person’s life. Our parish supports parents and Godparents with faith formation by hosting Sunday school classes for preschool children, from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. before Mass.
ST. THOMAS PUBLIC SCHOOL RELIGION (PSR)
Why do we hand on the faith?
Christ commands us, that’s why!
God gives every person the gift of reason, a conscience. Christ commands us to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19). Our families and our communities will not flourish unless we teach our children to form good consciences, to freely do what is good and passionately reject sin.
The Gospel is not called, “The Good News” for nothing! He conquered sin and death, so that we might live. How can we not share the gift of faith He gives us, which is just a foretaste of the joys of heaven?

BECOMING CATHOLIC
Rite of Catholic Initiation for Adults
The Rite of Catholic Initiation for Adults (RCIA) is a program of faith formation for adults considering joining the Catholic Church and for Catholics who did not receive the sacraments of initiation as children. The RCIA is designed to provide necessary information, and also a friendly environment for discernment to the potential convert.
As Catholics, we have a responsibility to set a good example in being an active member of the Church, and to pray for RCIA candidates and encourage them and all who seek to be members of the Body of Christ.
Please contact the Parish office at 573-477-3315 if you are interested in joining the Catholic Church.
