St. Thomas the Apostle Parish is bustling with faith-filled activity on the Ozark hilltops of St. Thomas, Missouri.
Our sense of service is deeply rooting in our families, called to be servants to one another as Christ taught his disciples at the Last Supper. By serving one another, we follow Christ’s two greatest commandments:
You shall love the Lord your God with your whole heart, and with your whole soul and with all your mind.
You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
The Gospel compels us to proclaim Christ’s love, performing the Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy through our Parish groups and individual witness.
We are all called to follow the chief Corporal Works of Mercy:
To feed the hungry;
To give drink to the thirsty;
To clothe the naked;
To visit the sick;
To visit those in prison;
To shelter the homeless; and
To bury the dead.
We strive to live out the chief Spiritual Works of Mercy:
To admonish the sinner;
To instruct the ignorant;
To counsel the doubtful;
To comfort the sorrowful;
To bear wrongs patiently;
To forgive all injuries; and
To pray for the living and the dead.
